I would be surprised if you haven't by now been subject to some indoctrination of a Marxist theme by your employer, the media or even your church.
Whenever I watch television, the papers or social media then I'm bombarded by some very modern Marxist concepts masquerading as 'social justice' or 'equality'. It has become relentless in its representation and is clearly brutal in its treatment of those who dare to oppose it.
At work the great and the good at the top of the greasy pole are now exploring and promoting themes such as 'social justice', 'black lives matter' as well as the usual feminist power stuff. We have meeting after meeting promoting such concepts in the executives desire to be seen as having the highest flag of virtue. I did say meeting but they more resemble re-education sessions where opposing views are not tolerated.
Even in the church we are not immune from this due to our dumbing down of the expectations of those who pastor us and hold positions of eldership. Even in my church phrases like 'systemic racism' and 'microaggression' have entered the lexicon.
Watch the video below. It's very wise in recognising the powers that work against God's Kingdom.
Pray for those in authority in the church, that they may remain faithful to the Word of God and not driven here there and everywhere that they man please man instead of God.
1 Timothy 2:1–4 (NLT): I urge you, first of all, to pray for all people. Ask God to help them; intercede on their behalf, and give thanks for them. 2 Pray this way for kings and all who are in authority so that we can live peaceful and quiet lives marked by godliness and dignity. 3 This is good and pleases God our Savior, 4 who wants everyone to be saved and to understand the truth.
Remember that your Pastors and Elders have a special resonsibility for you. Help them in that.
1 Peter 5:1-4 (NLT) And now, a word to you who are elders in the churches. I, too, am an elder and a witness to the sufferings of Christ. And I, too, will share in his glory when he is revealed to the whole world. As a fellow elder, I appeal to you: 2 Care for the flock that God has entrusted to you. Watch over it willingly, not grudgingly—not for what you will get out of it, but because you are eager to serve God. 3 Don’t lord it over the people assigned to your care, but lead them by your own good example. 4 And when the Great Shepherd appears, you will receive a crown of never-ending glory and honor.
I'm someone who came to faith as an adult after a short period of searching for something. I wasn't raised in the church or in any denomination so everything about faith has been new to me. You can read my testimony here.
My family background has been nominal Christian with a strong working class ethos. I tend to have strong moral values but am an economic liberal in the English tradition.
Happily married with 2 dogs, 2 cats and grown up children.
