This will mean the Sunday service will be on that theme and house groups will be running a 'Wellness' course.

I admire and applaud the leadership's desire to address the topic of Wellness. As a nation and a world we are suffering mentally under a pandemic, we have a rising incidence of suicidal thoughts, anxiety and depression, and the awful hurting 'mental' state so many people are in. But deep down I'm dreading that it's going to be a rehash of corporate cod psychology with a few Bible verses tacked on.

My employers are a US multinational who have trouble finding a big enough flagpole to hoist their flag of virtue onto. We are bombarded with Mindfulness, Yoga, Racial Justice, Laughology, Kindness and a whole raft of 'ologies' with some unlabelled Eastern Mysticism or Marxism hidden inside. All typical of a very middle-class, middle-management, feminised corporate structure that you would expect. Psychology for the middle-classes by the middle-classes. I have to 'tolerate' this kind of stuff at work, I really don't want to have to 'tolerate' it in Church.

What I wouldn't give for a church leadership that gave the Bible a bit more credence in being able to address the woes of the modern world, instead of searching in the secular for ways to increase the resilience of the flock. Don't get me wrong, I do love them and what they have done, it's just that I worry that the world is edging its way into the fabric of the church.

How much more beneficial it would have been to focus more on some Biblical concepts such as our Identity in Christ, Being Filled with the Holy Spirit, God's Plan for our Lives and our Authority as Believers!

Isaiah 26:3-4 [3] Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.[4] Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:
